Brake System Priming (3.8L)
NOTE:
Prime brake system after priming and bleeding master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER (3.8L) .
- Fill master cylinder with clean DOT 3 brake fluid. Loosen both rear brake caliper bleeder screws. Leave screws open until clear brake fluid flows out. Check master cylinder reservoir fluid level often. DO NOT let reservoir run dry. When clear brake fluid flows from bleeder screws, tighten bleeder screws.
- Open one front brake caliper bleeder screw. Leave screw open until clear brake fluid flows out. Check master cylinder reservoir fluid level often. DO NOT let reservoir run dry. When clear brake fluid flows from bleeder screw, tighten bleeder screw. Repeat procedure for other front brake caliper.
- Tighten front and rear bleeder screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . After brake system has been primed, bleed brake system. See MANUAL BLEEDING or PRESSURE BLEEDING .
