Test B: Single Mirror Inoperative
- Disconnect inoperative mirror harness connector. Measure voltage between ground and inoperative mirror harness connector Yellow wire terminal. Select appropriate mirror on mirror control switch. Operate mirror control switch to the down and right positions. If more than 10 volts exists in both positions, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exists in either/both positions, go to step 3 .
- Disconnect mirror control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance of Yellow wire between inoperative mirror harness connector and mirror control switch connector C501 terminal No. 6. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace mirror control switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Yellow wire.
- Measure voltage between ground and inoperative mirror harness connector Dark Blue wire terminal (Violet wire terminal on passenger's side). Operate mirror control switch to the up position. If 10 volts or less exists, go to next step if driver's mirror inoperative or step 5 if passenger's mirror inoperative. If more than 10 volts exists, go to step 6 .
- Disconnect mirror control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance of Dark Blue wire between mirror harness connector and driver's mirror control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 3. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace mirror control switch. Recheck system operation. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Blue wire. Recheck system operation.
- Disconnect mirror control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance of Violet wire between passenger's mirror harness connector and mirror control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 7. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace mirror control switch. Recheck system operation. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Violet wire. Recheck system operation.
- Measure voltage between ground and mirror harness connector Red wire terminal (driver's mirror) or Dark Green wire terminal (passenger's mirror). Operate mirror control switch to the left position. If 10 volts or less exists, go to next step for driver's mirror or step 8 for passenger's mirror. If more than 10 volts exists, replace appropriate mirror motor.
- Disconnect mirror control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance of Red wire between mirror harness connector and mirror control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 4. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace mirror control switch. Recheck system operation. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red wire. Recheck system operation.
- Disconnect mirror control switch 8-pin harness connector C501. Measure resistance of Dark Green wire between mirror harness connector and mirror control switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 8. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace mirror control switch. Recheck system operation. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Green wire. Recheck system operation.
