NOTE:
Proceed to DTC testing steps listed in FAULT CODE SETTING CONDITION table of fault code setting condition.

| Fault Code | KOEO | KOER | Continuous Memory |

- 1) Confirm DTC P0603
Clear DTCs. Turn ignition switch key off, then on. Repeat KOEO ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST . If DTC P0603 is still present, go to next step. If DTC P0603 is not present, no problem is indicated at this time. Service any other DTCs that are present. If no other DTCs are present, testing is complete. - 2) Check Fuse
On Econoline, check fuse No. 4 (10-amp) in power distribution box located on left side of engine compartment. On Excursion, check fuse No. 2 (5-amp) and Pickup, check fuse No. 15 (5-amp) in instrument panel fuse block. On all models, if fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, check for short to ground in Yellow wire (Econoline) or Red/White wire (Excursion and Pickup) between fuse block and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary and replace fuse. - 3) Check Voltage To PCM
Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM 104-pin connector and inspect for damaged pins, corrosion and loose wires. Repair as necessary. Install Breakout Box (014-00950), leaving PCM disconnected. Measure voltage between ground and test pin No. 55 at breakout box. If battery voltage is not present, locate and repair open circuit in Yellow wire (Econoline) or Red/White wire (Excursion and Pickup) between fuse block and PCM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary and replace fuse. If battery voltage is present, reconnect all connectors. Clear DTCs and repeat QUICK TEST . If DTC P0603 resets, replace PCM.
