Direct Clutch Assembly: Disassembly
- Remove intermediate one-way clutch outer race and intermediate one-way clutch. Remove thrust washer No. 7 from between one-way clutch and rear face of intermediate brake drum. Remove thrust washer No. 8A from front face of intermediate brake drum. See Figure.
- Using a screwdriver, remove pressure plate retaining ring. Remove pressure plate and clutch pack. Tag clutch plates for reassembly. Install appropriate spring compressor. Remove return spring retaining ring and return spring assembly. Remove piston from intermediate brake drum. Remove inner and outer seals from drum.
