Symptom Chart: Notes

SYMPTOM

Condition Possible Sources Action
  • The power seat is inoperative - driver
  • Fuse.
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • Driver seat control switch.
  • The power seat is inoperative - passenger
  • Fuse.
  • wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • Passenger seat control switch.
  • The power seat moves but is noisy
  • Obstruction or foreign material.
  • Seat track motor and transmission assembly.
  • Seat track.
  • IDENTIFY the source of noise. If an obstruction or foreign material is found, REMOVE the obstruction or foreign material.
  • If the source of the noise is the front seat track motor and transmission assembly, INSTALL a new front seat track motor. Refer to FRONT SEAT TRACK MOTOR .
  • If the source of the noise is the front seat track (and NOT the front seat track motor and transmission assembly), Go To PINPOINT TEST C: THE POWER SEAT MOVES BUT IS NOISY .
  • The power seat moves but is loose
  • Fastening hardware.
  • Seat track.
  • Seat track motor and transmission assembly.
  • The power seat does not make full travel
  • Seat track obstructed.
  • Seat track.
  • Seat track motor and transmission assembly.
  • The power seat does not move horizontally/vertically - driver
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • Driver front seat track.
  • Driver seat control switch.
  • Seat track motor and transmission assembly.
  • The power seat does not move horizontally/vertically - passenger
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • Passenger front seat track.
  • Passenger seat control switch.
  • Seat track motor and transmission assembly.
  • No communication with the driver seat module (DSM)
  • Fuse.
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • DSM.
  • The memory seat is inoperative
  • Fuse.
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • Seat control switch.
  • Seat track.
  • DSM.
  • Power seat motor.
  • Seat track motor and transmission assembly.
  • The memory seat does not operate correctly - does not operate using the memory set switch
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • Memory set switch.
  • Position sensor.
  • DSM.
Go To PINPOINT TEST I: THE MEMORY SEAT DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY - DOES NOT OPERATE USING THE MEMORY SET SWITCH .
  • The memory seat does not operate correctly - does not operate using the remote transmitter
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • DSM.
  • Keyless entry transmitter.
  • A single climate controlled seat does not operate/does not operate correctly
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • UBP network communication fault.
  • Dual automatic temperature control (DATC) module.
  • Climate controlled seat module (CCSM).
  • The passenger climate controlled seat does not operate, the driver climate controlled seat does operate
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • UBP network communication fault.
  • DATC module.
  • CCSM.
  • The heated seat is inoperative - driver
  • Fuse(s).
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • DATC module.
  • Heated seat module.
  • Heated seat cushion element.
  • Heated seat back element.
  • The heated seat is inoperative - passenger
  • Fuse(s).
  • Wiring, terminals or connectors.
  • DATC module.
  • Heated seat module.
  • Heated seat cushion element.

  • The heated seat is inoperative - seat does heat but the heated seat indicator does not illuminate when pressed - driver
