Engine torque modulation is achieved by regulating fuel and spark to the cylinders. The stability assist system operates using the ABS module to interact with the PCM to reduce engine torque if one or both front wheels lose traction and begin to spin during acceleration.
Voltage is supplied by the instrument cluster to the stability assist switch through circuit 1412 (WH/PK). The signal is grounded through the stability assist switch on circuit 1205 (BK). The instrument cluster then sends a stability assist disable command over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) network.
