Fuel Tank Draining

WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or have open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, resulting in possible personal injury or property damage.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  3. NOTE: Slightly pinching the filler hose near the fuel tank fitting may aid in special tool installation.

  4. Insert the special tool into the fuel filler pipe.
  5. NOTE: Follow the operating instructions supplied by the equipment manufacturer.
  6. Attach the fuel draining hose to the storage tanker and siphon the fuel from the fuel tank.
