Radiator - 2.3L: Installation

    ALL VEHICLES 

  1. Install the plastic cap and the three push pins on the top of the radiator channel.

  2. Position the radiator into the engine compartment and install the bolts.

  3. NOTE: Reinstall the constant tension clamp in the same position from which it was removed.

  4. Install the lower radiator hose to the radiator.
  5. Install the cooling fan and shroud. For additional information, refer to COOLING FAN MOTOR AND SHROUD - 2.3L .
  6. NOTE: Reinstall the constant tension clamp in the same position from which it was removed.

  7. Install the upper radiator hose to the radiator.
  8. Position the coolant overflow hose in the channel on top of the radiator, then connect the hose to the radiator.

    NOTE: To avoid disturbing the transmission or cooler fittings, use a back up wrench.
  9. VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 

  10. Connect the transmission cooling tubes to the radiator.

  11. ALL VEHICLES 

  12. Fill the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING - 2.3L .
  13. WARNING: Do not stand in line with or near the engine cooling fan blade when revving the engine.
  14. Operate the engine for several minutes and check the hoses and connections for leaks.
