Exterior Lighting

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lincoln Mark LT and 2007 Ford Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The exterior lighting system consists of:

The headlamp switch controls the headlamps, parking lamps and fog lamps or can be set to autolamps for automatic control of the exterior lamps.

The multifunction switch controls the turn signals and hazard lamps, and determines whether power is supplied to the low beam or high beam headlamps. The fog lamp switch is integral to the headlamp switch and controls the ON/OFF state of the fog lamp relay. The fog lamps can only be operated with the key in RUN, the parking or headlamps ON and the multifunction switch in the LOW BEAM position. The parking lamps are part of the headlamp assembly.

The stoplamp switch controls voltage to the rear lamps and the high mounted stoplamp. When the autolamp feature (if equipped) is selected, the VSM monitors the light sensor input and determines whether the exterior lights should be on or off.
