Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Remove and discard the oil filter.
- To install, lubricate the new oil filter O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
- Remove the oil cooler hose bolt and remove the oil cooler hoses from the oil filter adapter.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Loosen the 2 coolant hose clamps and disconnect the 2 coolant hoses and remove the oil cooler and hoses as an assembly.
- Inspect the oil cooler.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system.

CAUTION:
If metal or aluminum material is present in the oil cooler or oil cooler hoses, mechanical concerns exist. To diagnose mechanical concerns, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION
