Removal And Installation: Driveshaft: Installation

- Add 1 gram of grease to both alignment bushing cavities.
- Align the index marks and position the alignment bushing on the pinion flange piloting stem.
- Install the center support bearing bolts hand-tight.
- Slide the front shaft assembly forward.
- Align the index marks and position the alignment bushing on the transmission flange piloting stem.
- Install all 6 of the flex coupling-to-flange bolt nuts and flex coupling-to-flange bolts.
- Coat the nut and bolt threads with Threadlock 262.
- Tighten to 81 Nm (60 lb-ft).
- Tighten the center support bearing bolts.
- Tighten to 43 Nm (32 lb-ft).
- Install the heat shield.
- Install the exhaust system. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
CAUTION:
Align the index marks or a driveshaft NVH concern can occur.

Install the selective spacers and bolts in their original positions.
NOTE:
Do not tighten the bolts at this time.

CAUTION:
Install the bolts, washers and nuts in their original positions or a driveshaft NVH concern can occur. Install the driveshaft flex coupling bolts with the head of the bolt seated against the flange, and the nuts seated against the flex coupling. Install the short bolts in the transmission flange and the long bolts in the drive pinion flange.
NOTE:
The bolt heads are serrated. Hold the bolt and tighten the nut.
CAUTION:
Tighten the center support bearing bolts evenly to avoid twisting the bracket.
