Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Installation

- Ensure "J" clips are properly positioned on passenger-side air bag module prior to placing air bag module in instrument panel. Position 2 air bag module trim cover alignment pins to instrument panel openings. When properly aligned, air bag module will have even gap around its perimeter and sit flat against instrument panel. Install air bag module mounting bolts. Tighten passenger-side air bag module mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag module harness connector and reconnect connectors. Close glove box. Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining deployable devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
