Rear Window Defogger Does Not Turn Off Automatically
- Remove rear window defogger relay. Install a known-good relay and recheck system operation. If system now operates properly, install NEW relay. If system does not operate properly with test relay installed, go to next step.
- Disconnect Central Junction Box (CJB) connector C368. Disconnect 1-pin connector C1891a from rear window defogger grid. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between rear window defogger connector C1891a (Green/Blue wire) and ground. If no voltage exists, go to next step. If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Green/Blue wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Recheck system operation.
- Disconnect rear window defogger relay and Central Timer Module (CTM) 20-pin connector C23 located on CJB. Measure resistance between CTM connector terminal No. 12 and ground. Measure resistance between CTM connector terminal No. 4 and ground. If both resistances are greater than 10 k/ohms, replace CTM and retest. If either resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, replace CJB and retest.
