Overhaul - 4R70W Automatic Transmission: Identification: Notes

4R70W transmission is identified by a code letter on lower line of Vehicle Certification Label. This code can be found directly under the TR designation. Label is attached to driver's door lock post. See TRANSMISSION IDENTIFYING CODE LETTER CHART  . Transmission model may be identified by service identification tag attached to right side of transmission case or fluid pan. Tag shows transmission model, assembly number and serial number. See Fig 1 .
