Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Transceiver module is located on ignition switch lock cylinder. Insert ignition key into ignition switch lock cylinder. Turn ignition switch lock cylinder to RUN position. Insert a punch in steering column cover hole and press ignition switch lock cylinder release tab while removing ignition switch lock cylinder.
  2. Twist and remove tilt handle from column. Remove upper and lower steering column covers. Remove hood release handle. Remove instrument panel lower cover and reinforcement. Remove transceiver module retaining screw from steering column. Carefully pry transceiver over rib on ignition switch lock cylinder housing. Remove transceiver module harness retainers. Disconnect transceiver module harness connector and remove transceiver module. To install, reverse removal procedure.
