Inside Mirror Self-Test

  1. Place transmission in Park. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Place autolamp switch in OFF position. Using a paper clip, press and hold mode switch located on bottom of inside mirror. After 3 seconds, autolamp LED and headlights will blink twice, then turn on. If lights operate as described, go to next step. If LED do not operate as described, repair open in Brown/Light Green wire and/or Black wire. If headlights do not operate as described, repair open in White/Purple wire and/or replace defective autolamp relay. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
    NOTE: Step 2) MUST be performed within 10 second of pressing mode switch in step 1).
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Autolamp LED, headlights and parking lights should turn off. Also inside mirror should darken. If lights and LED turn off and inside mirror darkens, go to next step. If lights and/or LED does not turn off and/or inside mirror does not darken, repair open in Red/Yellow wire and/or short to voltage in Black/Pink wire.
  3. Once inside mirror has darkened, place transmission in Reverse. If inside mirror lightens, go to next step. If inside mirror does not lighten, repair open in Black/Pink wire and/or repair transmission range sensor circuit malfunction.
  4. Place transmission in Park. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. System passed self-test.
