DTC C1266: Abs System Valve Power Circuit Failure
- Check ABS Valve Power Circuit Voltage
Turn ignition off. Disconnect 28-pin ECU connector C1057 from ABS control module. See Figure. Connect EEC-IV Breakout Box (014-00322) connector with ABS Test Adapter (007-00116) to 28-pin ECU connector. Check voltage between pin No. 13 and ground. If there is not at least 10 volts, go to next step. If 10 volts or more, no further test is needed at this time. Restore and retest system.
- Check ABS Control Module Ground For Open
Disconnect breakout box ABS adapter from ABS control module. Be sure breakout box connector and vehicle harness remain connected. Measure resistance between breakout box pin No. 1 and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/White wire circuit No. 570. Restore connections and retest system.
- Check ABS Valve Power Circuit For Short
Remove fuse No. 18 (30A), then measure resistance between breakout box pin No. 13 and ground. If resistance is more than 10,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair short-to-ground in Tan/Red wire circuit No. 533. Replace fuse No. 18, if required. Restore connections and retest system.
- Check ABS Valve Power Feed Circuit For Open
Measure resistance between fuse No. 18 (30A) and pin No. 13 of breakout box. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace ABS control module. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open is Tan/Red wire circuit No. 533. Restore connections and retest system.
