Transmission Range (Tr) Sensor

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner assembly. Remove shift cable-to-manual lever nut. Place manual lever in Neutral position. Loosen Transmission Range (TR) sensor bolts and disconnect harness connector.
  2. Measure resistance between terminals "A" and "H". See Fig 1 . Rotate TR sensor until the point where continuity does not exist t between terminals. Tighten TR sensor mounting bolts to 70-95 INCH lbs (8-11 N.m.).
  3. Restore electrical connection. Ensure shifter is in Neutral and install shifter cable to manual lever and tighten bolt to 12-16 ft. lbs. (16-22 N.m.). Check starter operation.
