Strut & Coil Spring Assembly: Disassembly

  1. Secure strut assembly in Spring Compressor (D85P-7178-A), and place assembly in a vise. Compress spring, and remove shock absorber nut. Gradually release spring compressor. Be careful not to damage threads on strut as it expands.
  2. Remove coil spring, upper rubber spring seat, upper spring seat, thrust bearing, and strut mounting block. Inspect parts, and replace as necessary.
