Throttle Position (TP) Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Ford Aspire. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect TP sensor wiring harness connector. Rotate throttle to wide open position. Measure resistance between terminals "A" and "B". See Fig 1 . Resistance should be about 5 ohms.
- Rotate throttle to closed position. Again, measure resistance between terminals "A" and "B". See Fig 1 . Resistance should be about 1 ohm. If resistance is not as specified, loosen TP sensor screws. Adjust TP sensor until resistance is within specification.
