Test E - Lumbar/Bolster Support Inoperative
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect power seat lumbar/bolster switch connector. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and power seat lumbar/bolster switch connector Black/Yellow wire. If reading is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If reading is 10 volts or less, repair open in White/Black and/or Black/Yellow wire(s). See WIRING DIAGRAM .
- Perform lumbar/bolster support switch test. See LUMBAR/BOLSTER SUPPORT SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch tests okay, go to next step. If switch tests faulty, replace switch and housing.
- Turn ignition off. With power seat lumbar/bolster switch connector disconnected, apply 12 volts to Black wire terminal of connector. If front seatback pad adjusting pump operates properly, repair Black/Yellow wire. If pump does not operate, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect front seatback pad adjusting pump connectors. Apply 12 volts to Black wire terminal at connector, and ground Black wire terminal at pump. If front seatback pad adjusting pump operates properly, go to next step. If pump does not operate, replace front seatback pad adjusting pump.
- Turn ignition off. Measure resistance of Black wire between pump connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Black wire between pump and switch. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire between pump and ground.
