Wiper Motor

  1. Disengage wiper arm linkage from wiper motor. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Using fused jumper wires, connect ammeter between positive battery terminal and Yellow/Red wire terminal at wiper motor. See Fig 1 .
  2. Connect another jumper wire between ground and Dark Blue/Orange wire terminal at wiper motor. Measure low speed current draw. Disconnect jumper wire from Dark Blue/Orange wire terminal, and connect it to White wire terminal at wiper motor. Measure high speed current draw. In low speed test, current should not exceed 3.5 amps. In high speed test, current draw should not exceed 5.5 amps. Replace wiper motor if current draw is not as specified.
