Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis, 1997 Lincoln Town Car, and 1997 Ford Crown Victoria. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect electrical connector to passenger-side air bag module and position passenger-side air bag module in instrument panel. Install two upper retaining screws. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install two lower retaining screws. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Return glove compartment to original position. Install instrument panel upper moulding (or finish panel) by snapping into place on the instrument panel.
  3. Reconnect battery ground cable. Ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Reprogram radio frequencies and reset clock.
