System Priming (4.6L)

CAUTION: Bleed master cylinder using engine side bleed screws only.
  1. Locate 2 bleed screws on engine side of master cylinder. Attach drain tube to master cylinder bleed screw closest to booster. Submerge free end of drain tube in container partially filled with clear brake fluid.
  2. Loosen bleed screw approximately 3/4 of a turn. Have an assistant push brake pedal slowly through full travel, close outlet fitting, then return brake pedal slowly to full released position. Wait 5 seconds, then repeat operation until no air bubbles are visible. Repeat step procedure for bleeder screw farthest from hydro-booster.
