Test F: No Communication With EVO Control Module
NOTE:

- Turn ignition off. Disconnect EVO control module connector C294 See Figure and Figure . EVO control module is located behind center of instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and EVO module connector C294 terminal No. 5 (Black wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If zero volts is indicated, go to next step. If any voltage is indicated, replace EVO module. Retest system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between ground and EVO module connector C294 terminal No. 5 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between EVO module connector and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Test system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and EVO module connector C294 terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/Pink wire). If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Light Blue/Pink wire between EVO module connector and fuse No. 5 located in central junction box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system for normal operation.
- Turn ignition off. Measure resistance of Orange/Black wire between EVO module connector C294, terminal No. 4 and EVO diagnostic connector, terminal No. 2. See Figure and Fig 1 . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and EVO diagnostic connector, terminal No. 2 (Orange/Black wire). Resistance should be more than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair open or short in Orange/Black wire. Retest system for normal operation.
- Measure resistance of Orange/Light Blue wire between EVO module connector C294 terminal No. 3 and EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 4. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 4 (Orange/Light Blue wire). Resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair open or short in Orange/Light Blue wire. Retest system for normal operation.
- Measure resistance of Light Green wire between EVO module connector C294 terminal No. 2 and EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 5. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. See Figure and Fig 1 . Measure resistance between ground and EVO diagnostic connector terminal No. 5 (Light Green wire). Resistance should be more than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is as specified, replace EVO control module. If resistance is not as specified, repair open or short in Light Green wire. Retest system for normal operation.
