Trunk Will Not Unlock
- Press trunk lid switch located in glove box. If trunk does not open, go to next step. If trunk opens, go to step 7).
- Connect and operate NGS tester following manufacturer's instructions. Command DECKLID RELEASE. If trunk does not open, go to next step. If trunk opens, go to step 7).
- Command DECKLID RELEASE. Listen for sound from trunk area. If no sound occurs, go to next step. If sound occurs, check for sticking trunk lid release mechanism or other mechanical problem. Repair as necessary.
- Backprobe DDM connector C519/C520, terminals No. 6 and 7 (both Purple/Yellow wires) with voltmeter while commanding DECKLID RELEASE. See Figure . If battery voltage is momentarily present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not momentarily present, temporarily substitute known good DDM, then retest system.
- Test for voltage at Pink/Yellow wire at trunk release solenoid while commanding DECKLID RELEASE. If battery voltage is momentarily present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not momentarily present, repair open or short in Pink/Yellow wire between DDM connector C519/C520, terminals No. 6 and 7 and trunk release solenoid.
- Measure resistance between ground and trunk release solenoid Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace trunk release solenoid. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between trunk release solenoid and ground.
- Read PID DLIDREL. Press trunk lid switch. Read PID DLIDREL. If display does not change when switch is pressed, go to next step. If display changes when switch is pressed, temporarily substitute known good DDM, then retest system.
- With trunk lid switch released, read PID DLIDREL. If NGS tester does not indicate switch is ON, go to next step. If NGS tester indicates switch is ON, inspect White/Pink wire between DDM connector C519/C520, terminal No. 13 for short to ground. Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace trunk lid switch.
- Measure resistance of White/Purple wire between DDM connector C519/C520, terminal No. 13 and trunk lid switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Yellow wire between DDM connector C519/C520, terminal No. 13 and trunk lid switch.
- Measure resistance of Black wire between ground trunk lid switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace trunk lid switch. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between trunk lid switch and ground.
