Fuel Level Reads Inaccurately

  1. Fuel Level Sensor Check  - Perform FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. If necessary, replace sending unit (fuel level sensor). If sending unit is okay, go to next step.
  2. Fuel Level Sensor Ground Check  - Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel tank assembly connector (under rear seat cushion). Check resistance between ground and Black/Yellow wire at fuel tank assembly connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair open in Black/Yellow wire.
  3. Fuel Gauge Check  - Perform FUEL GAUGE TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. If necessary, replace fuel gauge. If fuel gauge is okay, repair Black/Yellow wire between ground and instrument cluster connector.
