Spindle Assembly: Installation
- Place spindle on ball joint stud, and install stud nut. DO NOT tighten nut at this time. Lower shock strut until attaching holes are in line with spindle holes. Install 2 NEW bolts and nuts.
- Tighten ball joint stud nut, and install new cotter pin (if equipped). DO NOT back off nut to install cotter pin; tighten to align cotter pin holes. Tighten shock-to-spindle attaching nuts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS table.
- Lower and remove jack. Install remaining components in reverse order of removal. Check front end alignment and adjust as necessary.
NOTE:
DO NOT use impact wrench when replacing gas-pressurized front damper assembly. All strut damper and upper mount assemblies use metric fasteners.
