Power Door Lock Switch

NOTE: Use self-powered test light or ohmmeter to test power door lock switch. Some switches contain diodes. Reverse test leads during resistance checks before condemning switches.
  1. Remove switch from mounting. With switch in neutral position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 2, terminals No. 2 and 5, and terminals No.4 and 6. See Fig 1. With switch in LOCK position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 2, 4 and 5, and terminals No. 1 and 3. Continuity should not exist between terminal No. 6 and any other terminal.
  2. With switch in UNLOCK position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 2, 3 and 5, and terminals No. 4 and 6. Continuity should not exist between terminal No. 1 and any other terminal. If switch does not test as indicated, replace power door lock switch.
