Escort and Tracer vehicles are equipped with a 48 amp-hour or a 58 amp-hour battery. Both are 12 volt, direct current (DC) and maintenance-free batteries (10655).

The battery features a hydrometer which indicates the charge condition of the battery.

The hydrometer has the ability to identify three conditions:

• Green: Normal charge
• Dark: Low charge
• Light or Yellow: Low electrolyte level, will not accept a charge
