Complete all steps in BASIC TESTING - 5.8L article before proceeding to self-diagnostic tests. Inspect air cleaner and inlet ducting. Check coolant for proper level and mixture. Check transmission level and quality. Ensure all vacuum hoses and EEC-IV wiring harnesses are properly connected.
