Test A: Actuator Circuit Open
NOTE:
This test is associated with DTC 27.
- Check Connections - Ensure ignition switch is in OFF position. Verify EVO actuator connector on power steering pump is firmly seated. If connectors are not firmly seated, make proper connections and repeat actuator output circuit test. If connections are seated properly, go to next step.
- Check High Side Circuit Resistance
Turn ignition switch to OFF position. On models without air suspension, disconnect EVO control module 14-pin connector C214. On models with air suspension, disconnect Black EVO control module 13-pin connector C215 and Gray EVO control module 13-pin connector C216. On all models, disconnect EVO actuator harness connector. On models without air suspension, measure resistance between pin No. 13 (Gray/Orange wire) of EVO control module connector C214 and Gray/Orange wire terminal at EVO actuator connector. See Fig 1. On models with air suspension, measure resistance between pin No. 14 (Gray/Orange wire) of Black EVO control module connector C215 and Gray/Orange wire terminal at EVO actuator connector. See Fig 2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Gray/Orange wire. Repeat actuator output circuit test. - Check Low Side Circuit Continuity
On models without air suspension, measure resistance between pin No. 14 (Tan/Yellow wire) of EVO control module connector C214 and Tan/Yellow wire terminal at EVO actuator connector. On models with air suspension, measure resistance between pin No. 26 (Tan/Yellow wire) of Black EVO control module connector C215 and Tan/Yellow wire terminal at EVO actuator connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace EVO actuator. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Tan/Yellow wire. Reconnect all components and repeat actuator output circuit test.
