Code 24 - SAFING Sensor Circuit Open: Description

Diagnostic monitor uses 2 internal resistors to control voltage at terminals 11 and 12 of diagnostic monitor harness connector. Diagnostic monitor compares voltage at terminals 11 and 12 to battery voltage, measured at terminal 13. Logic circuits in diagnostic monitor determine whether regulated voltage is within specified limits. See VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS (CODE 24)  . Since Brown/White and Orange/Blue wires are connected inside safing sensor, any voltage differential between terminals 11 and 12 is registered as a system fault. When such a voltage differential exists, Code 24 is recorded.
