Tachometer Inoperative
- Tachometer Power Supply Check
Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster C210 (Black) connector. Measure voltage at tachometer "+" terminal. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, replace instrument cluster printed circuit board.
- Distributor To Instrument Cluster Circuit Check
Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster C210 (Black) connector and 3-pin distributor connector. Measure resistance between ground and Yellow/Black wire at instrument cluster connector. Measure resistance of Yellow/Black wire between instrument cluster connector and 3-pin distributor connector. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms between instrument cluster and ground, and less than 5 ohms between instrument cluster and distributor, go to next step. If resistances are not as specified, repair Yellow/Black wire.
- Tachometer Ground Circuit Check
Turn ignition off. Disconnect instrument cluster C210 (Black) connector. Measure resistance between ground and tachometer "-" terminal. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace tachometer. If resistance is not as specified, replace instrument cluster printed circuit board.
