Removal & Installation

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove rear seat cushion and cover. Remove luggage compartment floor cover hold-down pins. Fold cover forward until sending unit access cover is exposed. On 3-door vehicles, remove inner floor filler cover. On all vehicles, remove ground lead and access plate.
  2. Unplug electrical connector. On 5-door vehicles, remove check valve from fuel pump housing. On all vehicles, disconnect hoses. Remove fuel pump housing. Separate sending unit from housing. Remove fuel pump. To install, reverse removal procedure. Check system for leaks.
