Cruise Control Systems: Operation
Speed control system is activated when ON switch is pressed and SET/ACCEL button is pressed. Vehicle will maintain speed until new speed is set, brake pedal is depressed, or OFF switch is pressed. If system has been deactivated by process other than pressing OFF switch, set speed can be regained by pressing and releasing RES button. Under normal braking conditions, when brake pedal is depressed, a signal from stoplight switch to servo deactivates operation. Speed control deactivator switch provides an additional safety feature. Under increased brake pedal effort, deactivator switch will open and eliminate power to servo, releasing throttle from servo control.
