Test A: Accessory Relay Not Timing Out

  1. Inspect all connections for contamination, looseness or damage. If any problems are found, repair as necessary. If all connections are okay, go to next step.
  2. Install NGS scan tester, retrieve continuous codes, and perform on demand self test. See GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE article. If self test and continuous DTC B1302 is retrieved, repair short to ground in Purple wire between GEM connector C233 terminal 8, (GEM located behind left side of instrument panel), and delayed accessory relay, (in instrument panel fuse panel). See Fig 1 .If self test DTC B1405 is retrieved, go to next step.
  3. Remove delayed accessory relay. Check for voltage on Light Blue/Black wire at LH power window switch. If voltage is present, repair short to power along Light Blue/Black wire or Yellow/Red wire between delayed accessory relay and LH power window switch. If voltage is not present, check continuity of delayed accessory relay contacts, (between terminals corresponding to Yellow/Light Green and Yellow/Red wires). If continuity is present, replace relay. If there is no continuity, malfunction may be intermittent.
