Test B - Doors Do Not Lock/Unlock W/Remote Transmitter
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Black connector of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Module and the power door lock relay connector. Measure resistance at the following:
- Tan/Light Green wire between the Black connector of RKE module and the power door lock relay connector.
- Tan/Light Green wire between the Black connector of RKE Module and ground.
If resistance is less than 5 ohms between RKE module and the power door lock relay, and greater than 10,000 ohms RKE module and ground, go to next step. If not, repair Tan/Light Green wire. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms between the RKE module and the power door lock relay, and less than 10,000 ohms between the RKE module and ground, repair Tan/Light Green wire.
- Turn ignition off. Reconnect the Black connector of RKE module. Disconnect the power door lock relay connector. Press LOCK button on the remote transmitter. Check for voltage at Tan/Light Green wire on the power door lock relay connector when the LOCK button is pressed. Press UNLOCK button. Check for voltage of Tan/Light Green wire on the power door lock relay connector when UNLOCK button is pressed. If voltage jumps to 10 volts when LOCK/UNLOCK buttons are pressed, remote transmitter and RKE module are ok. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS. If voltage does not jump to 10 volts when LOCK/UNLOCK buttons are pressed, go to next step.NOTE: Voltage should jump to approximately 10 volts and return to approximately 1 volt.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect and reconnect the battery to reset the system. Program a new keyless entry remote transmitter into RKE module. Repeat Step 2). If voltage is correct, replace transmitter. If voltage is incorrect, replace RKE module.
