Pinpoint Test J - Poor Vehicle Tracking During Anti-Lock Function, Light Off

  1. Verify condition exists. Bleed brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  . If vehicle still does not track properly, go to next step
NOTE: Ensure that no DTCs are stored in ECU memory. If any DTCs are stored in ECU memory, service as necessary before continuing.
  2. Check Anti-Lock Valve (LF Wheel)

Turn ignition off. Turn off air suspension (if equipped). Connect NGS scan tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Raise and support vehicle. Using scan tester, command pump motor to run for four seconds (to empty accumulator). Moderately apply brake pedal. Ensure left front wheel does not turn. If wheel turns, replace brake pressure control block. Using scan tester, energize each valve. If left front wheel turns freely while valve is energized, go to next step. If left front wheel does not turn freely while valve is energized, replace brake pressure control block.
  3. Check Anti-Lock Valve (RF Wheel)

Turn ignition on. Using scan tester, command pump motor to run for four seconds (to empty accumulator). Apply moderate pressure to brake pedal. Ensure right front wheel does not turn. If wheel turns, replace brake pressure control block. Using scan tester, energize each valve. If right front wheel turns freely while valve is energized, go to next step. If right front wheel does not turn freely while valve is energized, replace brake pressure control block.
  4. Check Anti-Lock Valve (LR Wheel)

Turn ignition on. Using scan tester, command pump motor to run for four seconds (to empty accumulator). Apply moderate pressure to brake pedal. Ensure left rear wheel does not turn. If wheel turns, replace brake pressure control block. Using scan tester, energize each valve. If left rear wheel turns freely while valve is energized, go to next step. If left rear wheel does not turn freely while valve is energized, replace brake pressure control block.
  5. Check Anti-Lock Valve (RR Wheel)

Turn ignition on. Using scan tester, command pump motor to run for four seconds (to empty accumulator). Apply moderate pressure to brake pedal. Ensure right rear wheel does not turn. If wheel turns, replace brake pressure control block. Using scan tester, energize each valve. If right rear wheel turns freely while valve is energized, system is okay and testing is complete. If right rear wheel does not turn freely while valve is energized, replace brake pressure control block.
