Power Steering Pump: Assembly

  1. Install "O" rings onto side plate. Install side plate. Align side plate holes as shown to aid installation of rear body. See Fig 1 . Install rotor with identification mark facing upward.
  2. Install vanes with rounded portion facing outward. Install cam ring with identification mark facing downward. Install rear body. To complete assembly, reverse disassembly procedure.
  3. Check pump for free rotation. If pump does not rotate freely, disassemble and repair as necessary. Install pump onto vehicle. Bleed air from hydraulic system before starting engine. See HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING  under LUBRICATION.
