Oil Pump: Reassembly

  1. Install pump driven gear with identification dot facing pump body. Install pump drive gear with gear insert. Using gauge bar and depth micrometer, measure clearance between each gear and oil pump body facing.
  2. Clearance should be .001-.002" (.027-.060 mm). If clearance is not within specification, replace oil pump assembly. Install Pump Alignment Pins (T94P-77000-P). Fill pump gear cavity with ATF to top of gears. Install separator plates and pump support assembly. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Install sealing rings. Install oil pump shaft. Using torque wrench, measure pump rotating torque. Maximum rotating torque is 2 INCH lbs. (.3 N.m). If rotating torque exceeds specification, disassembly and inspect pump assembly for contamination or improper end clearance.
