Preliminary Checks

Check all fuses, electrical and vacuum connections. Service as necessary. If connections are okay, apply brakes and observe brakelights. If brakelights do not work, repair circuit. If brakelights are okay, Check the following:

• Clutch pedal position switch. See CLUTCH PEDAL POSITION SWITCH under TESTING  .
• Servo actuator cable. See SERVO LINKAGE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
• Throttle linkage.
• Vacuum system for leakage. See VACUUM SYSTEM  under TESTING.
• Control switches. See CONTROL SWITCHES under TESTING.
• Servo. See SERVO under TESTING.
• Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). See VSS under TESTING.
• Amplifier. See AMPLIFIER under TESTING.
• Wiring circuits. See AMPLIFIER under TESTING.
