Pinpoint Test E - Motor And Motor Relay

CAUTION: While performing this test, DO NOT allow motor to run for longer than 2 seconds.
  1. Perform PINPOINT TEST D  . If fail-safe relay is okay, go to next step. Replace fail-safe relay if defective.
  2. Inspect all wiring, brakelines, and other ABS components for visible physical deterioration or damage. If all is okay, go to next step. Make any necessary repairs.
  3. Turn ignition off. Unplug ABS control module connector. Turn ignition on. Temporarily ground Black/Blue wire at harness connector. Temporarily ground Blue/Red wire at harness connector for no longer than 2 seconds. If relay does not click and motor does not operate, go to next step. If relay clicks but motor does not operate, go to step 5). If relay clicks and motor operates, go to step 8).
  4. Go to ANTI-LOCK RELAY  under DIAGNOSIS. If anti-lock relay is okay, go to next step. Replace relay if it is defective.
  5. Turn ignition off. Unplug 2-pin motor connector from anti-lock actuator. Measure resistance between Red/Yellow and Black motor wires. If resistance is less than one ohm, go to next step. If resistance is not less than one ohm, replace actuator.
  6. Using fused jumper wire, apply battery voltage to Red/Yellow wire at motor connector. Temporarily ground Black wire at motor connector for no longer than 2 seconds. If motor runs, go to next step. If motor does not run, replace actuator.
  7. Disconnect jumper wires. Measure resistance between Black wire at motor harness connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Red/Yellow wire between anti-lock relay and anti-lock actuator. If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, repair Black wire to ground.
  8. Turn ignition off. Connect wiring to anti-lock actuator. Unplug connector from ABS control module. Measure resistance between Red/Yellow wire at harness connector and ground. If resistance is less than one ohm, go to PINPOINT TEST G  . If resistance is not less than one ohm, repair Red/Yellow wire between ABS control module and anti-lock actuator.
