Temperature Gauge Test

  1. Unplug coolant temperature sensor, located at upper right front of engine. Connect one lead of Rotunda Gauge System Tester (021-00055) to Yellow wire at coolant temperature sending unit. Connect other tester lead to ground. Set tester to 16 ohms. Turn ignition on.
  2. After one minute, gauge should indicate hot (H). Set tester to 180.5 ohms. After one minute, gauge should indicate cold (C). If gauge indications are okay, check Yellow/White wire at instrument cluster connector for a short or open. If wire is okay, test temperature sending unit. See TEMPERATURE SENDING UNIT TEST.
