Pinpoint Test A - Quick Test
- Lock and unlock each door several times from each individual switch. If doors lock and unlock properly, go to next step. If doors do not lock and unlock properly, go to PINPOINT TEST C - POWER DOOR LOCK DIAGNOSIS .
- Turn ignition off. Lift either front door handle to open front door. Within 25 seconds, unlock door with key, enter vehicle and turn ignition on. If interior lights turn off when ignition is turned on, go to next step. If lights do not turn off, replace control module and repeat test. If lights do not turn on at all, refer to PINPOINT TEST B - ILLUMINATED ENTRY DIAGNOSIS .
- Turn ignition on. Momentarily insert shorting plug into program connector. Program connector is located behind right side of instrument panel in wiring harness. If doors lock and unlock, go to next step. If doors do not lock and unlock, refer to PINPOINT TEST D - REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS .
- Remove shorting plug from program connector. Turn ignition off. Close and unlock all doors. Press LOCK button on transmitter. On models with anti-theft system, watch anti-theft indicator light. On all models, if system operates properly, go to step 6). If system does not operate properly, go to PINPOINT TEST D - REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS .
- Turn ignition off. Close and lock all doors. Press UNLOCK button on transmitter. If system functions properly, go to next step. If system does not function properly, go to PINPOINT TEST D - REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS .
- With ignition off, press UNLOCK button on transmitter twice. If doors unlock, go to next step. If doors do not unlock, go to PINPOINT TEST D - REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS .
- Press PANIC button on transmitter. If exterior lights flash and horn sounds, go to next step. If lights do not flash and horn does not sound, go to step 12).
- If more than one transmitter is programmed into control module, perform this step. If only one transmitter is programmed, go to next step. With ignition off, repeat step 7), but press PANIC button of a different transmitter. If horn and lights come on and then shut off, replace control module and repeat Quick Test. If horn and lights do not shut off, go to next step.
- With ignition off, repeat step 7), but press PANIC button on original transmitter 3 times to next step. If horn and lights do not shut off, replace control module and repeat PINPOINT TEST A - QUICK TEST .
- Press PANIC button on any transmitter. Turn ignition on. If horn and lights shut off, go to next step. If horn and lights do not shut off, replace control module and repeat PINPOINT TEST A - QUICK TEST .
- Turn ignition on. Close and unlock all doors. Press LOCK button on transmitter twice. If doors lock, system is okay, go to next step. If doors do not lock, replace control module and repeat PINPOINT TEST A - QUICK TEST .
- Check voltage on anti-theft data circuit Light Green wire between anti-theft alarm module and door lock control module. If voltage is more than 10 volts, check for open in Light Green wire. Check anti-theft system. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to PINPOINT TEST D - REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS .
