Warning Light (WL) Signal Check

- Ensure ABS control unit and ABS relay are disconnected. Turn ignition on. Using jumper wire, connect Yellow/Red wire (Escort and Tracer) or Pink wire (Probe) at ABS control unit connector to ground. Using another jumper wire, connect Yellow/Red wire (Escort and Tracer) or Pink wire (Probe) at ABS relay connector to ground.
- If ABS warning light is on with both wires grounded, go to PINPOINT TEST WL-4 . If ABS warning light does not turn on at all, replace 15-amp METER fuse and/or warning light bulb. If fuse and bulb are okay, check for open in Yellow/Red wire (Escort and Tracer) or Pink wire (Probe) between instrument cluster and ABS relay and/or ABS control unit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- If light is on only when ABS control unit is grounded, repair Yellow/Red wire (Escort and Tracer) or Pink wire (Probe) to ABS relay. If light is on only when ABS relay is grounded, repair Yellow/Red wire (Escort and Tracer) or Pink wire (Probe) to ABS control unit.
