2.0L M/T

  1. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Turn ignition off. Set parking brake. Place transaxle in Neutral. Turn all accessories off. Connect tachometer to engine. Ensure engine is warmed to normal operating temperature. Disconnect Idle Air Control By-Pass Air (IAC BPA) valve wiring harness connector.
  2. Start engine, and raise speed to 2500 RPM for 30 seconds. Allow engine to return to idle speed. Ensure cooling fan is not running. Observe tachometer and record idle speed.
  3. If idle speed is incorrect, locate idle adjustment screw on IAC BPA valve. See Figure . Turn idle adjustment screw to adjust idle speed to specification. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS  table. After adjustment is complete, turn ignition off. Repeat idle speed check to verify idle speed is correct. Reconnect IAC BPA valve wiring harness connector.
