Brake Pedal Free Play

  1. With engine off, depress brake pedal 2 or 3 times to eliminate vacuum in power brake booster. Press pedal down by hand and measure pedal free play. On A/T models, free play should be .31-.47" (7.8-12.0 mm). On M/T models, free play should be .16-.33" (4.0-8.4 mm).
  2. To adjust free play, loosen lock nut on brake pedal push rod. Turn rod until free play is within specification. Tighten lock nut.
