ISSUE
A new special paint identification label has been designed to identify R.P.O. paint code changes on the subject vehicles not reflected on the certification label. Examples of paint changes are...
- Running color changes during the model year, where a monocoat paint was changed to basecoat/clearcoat.
- Future model color is in a pre-production color trial.
ACTION
If paint service is required, refer to this special paint identification label affixed near the certification label to find the Ford "M" number and the two digit sales code. See Fig 1 . This label is for short run use only until certification labels can be changed. This process is automated and takes approximately two (2) weeks time. Aftermarket paint suppliers can track colors by either of the provided codes.
