Steering Angle Sensor Check

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect steering angle sensor connector. Set steering wheel so wheels are straight. Set VOM on 200-k/ohm scale. Measure resistance between Green and Green/White wires while turning steering wheel slowly from straight to 180 degrees left. If resistance decreases from 10 k/ohms to approximately 180 ohms, proceed to PINPOINT TEST C5  . If resistance is NOT as specified, replace steering angle sensor.
  2. Set steering wheel so wheels are straight. Measure resistance between Green and Green/Yellow wires. If resistance is 40-60 k/ohms, proceed to PINPOINT TEST C5  . If resistance is NOT as specified, replace steering angle sensor.
